The festival of Teej occurs every year on the third day of the full moon nightย ๐ŸŒ‘ย in the month of Bhadrapada. The festival also marks the beginning of the monsoon and is considered a societal and cultural event.
According to folklore, it was on the day of teej that Goddess Parvati was united with lord shiva after severe penance. Women wear colorful dresses embroidered with small mirrors partake in festivities. Swings are hung from the treesย ๐ŸŒฒย and people sing songs in praise of monsoon and goddess Parvati.
